How To Use Instagram For Business: A Beginner's Guide
Ever since Facebook acquired our favorite photo app Instagram, they’ve started to introduce "promoted posts". The first version of this advertising module was focused on the bigger brands, but now they are moving towards small businesses and creative agencies.
Smart as they are, they’ve implemented a few changes over the past year. Think about their "multiple account" option, the fact that posts aren’t ordered by date anymore,…
And now they are introducing "business profiles". The most important changes? A fancy call-to-action button on the home page, a lot more statistics that help you calculate fan engagement and of course… more buttons to start actual advertising :).
Instagram announced these new features a few months ago, but decided to roll it out in waves. I haven't paid a lot of attention to this, but it seems these business profiles have finally arrived in Belgium.
What do you need to create a business account? Only a Facebook fanpage! Go to your Instagram settings, look for the business account option and connect your Instagram account to your Facebook page. That's it!
I would advise to configure the contact button to have your email and phone number, worst case scenario? No one calls. Best case scenario? They hit the button, call you, and you'll be able to close a deal :).
The best thing about this new update is obviously the stats per photo. You can now see how much people saw a picture, the unique amount of hits, as well as the engagement! This makes the perfect tool to generate a benchmark.

The business account has a few other new functions, like calculating the best time to post (but Instagram needs at least 7 days to figure this out). We'll update you when we know more about this.
